We are now looking for a Deck Bosun/Bas who will work on board our vessels.
Job purpose
The Deck Bosun is overall responsible for all deck operations onboard the vessel. This includes ensuring that all fishing gear, deck gear, and related equipment are fully operational, that all required spare parts are in stock, and that all fishing‑gear‑related costs remain within budget. The Deck Bosun is also responsible for ensuring that the deck department is staffed with competent and qualified crew.
Responsibility during operation
Responsible for all deck personnel.
Responsible for trawl deck and make sure operation is optimized during fishery.
See to that fishing- and deck gear at all times is operative and optimized.
Order fishing- and deck equipment using the purchasing system.
Repair and maintenance, including preventive maintenance of fishing- and deck gear.
Responsible for following up the grease of any equipment on deck.
Responsible for inventory kept up to date.
Create handover notes for oncoming Deck B.
Safety responsibility
Be familiar with duties according to "station bill" and muster list
