We are now looking for a Factory Mechanic who will work on board our vessels in Antarctica
Factory Mechanic
The Factory Mechanic reports to the Factory Manager and the Chief Engineer on board and is responsible for Repair and Maintenance (R&
M) of all processing equipment, packing equipment and storage equipment in the factory department onboard the fishing vessel, making sure that all such equipment is in good working condition. He/she is a key member of the on-board factory team and coordinates the daily R&
M work along with the factory mechanic assistant. Furthermore, the factory mechanic is responsible for follow-up of purchase orders, ensuring there are sufficient spare parts for the processing equipment onboard, making sure that all orders are in line with given budgets. The Factory Mechanic may also be set to repair other machinery and being involved in other R&
M operations onboard the ship.
The position is not set to a specific vessel and may change during the season if required or by request from management.
