What you will do:
The Senior Controls Engineer owns subsystem-level control architecture and technical direction for advanced mechatronic automotive products. The position requires deep expertise in control theory, embedded implementation, and model-based development, combined with the ability to shape technical strategy, resolve ambiguity, and influence engineering outcomes across programs.
Technical Architecture &
Strategy: Define control subsystem architecture aligned with product and system requirements;
Translate system requirements into structured control strategies and technical roadmaps;
Lead algorithm trade-off studies (observer selection, modulation strategy, estimation robustness);
Own control performance targets including NVH, efficiency, thermal robustness, and startup behavior;
Identify and mitigate control-related technical risks early in development.
Algorithm &
Software Development: Lead development of advanced control and estimation algorithms (e.g., Sensorless FOC);
Architect and maintain Simulink-based models suitable for production deployment;
Ensure model-to-code integrity and oversee model/code equivalency validation;
Drive calibration strategies and structured parameter management;
Ensure compliance with ASPICE-based production software processes.
Validation &
Industrialization: Define control verification strategy including SIL, PIL, HIL, and dyno validation;
Oversee Rapid Control Prototyping / HIL platforms;
Lead structured root-cause investigations (8D) for control performance issues;
Ensure robustness across temperature extremes and production variability;
Support product industrialization and production release readiness.
Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with Systems, Firmware, Hardware, and Mechanical teams to define sensing/actuation architecture;
Influence subsystem-level design decisions impacting performance, cost, and timing;
Interface with suppliers and customers on control strategy and performance topics;
Contribute to DFMEA, DVP&
R, and system architecture documentation.
