Jackie’s internship adventure – navigating the corporate world

"The internship in WTS is not only my first attempt to put theory into practice, but also an important part of my career planning." This is my first internship about tax consulting, and I have gained a lot during the two-month internship. First, the depth and breadth of professional knowledge has been improved. In the past, I have studied the professional knowledge related to taxation and understood taxation regulations clearly. However, this is far from enough in practice because the depth and breadth of knowledge cannot reach the standard. In the internship, the preparation of transfer pricing materials helped me get familiar with the process of transfer pricing. Transfer pricing involves a lot of work, including industry analysis, function and risk analysis, connected transaction analysis, transfer pricing and economic analysis. The understanding of these tasks enhanced the breadth and depth of my professional knowledge. Second, my understanding of tax consulting work has been deepened. WTS holds case training every week, which covers a wide range of topics. Colleagues can not only analyze the tax policy of a certain industry, but also share around an aspect of practical work. The regular training helped me have a deeper understanding of tax consulting work, and I also learned a lot of practical knowledge. Third, my English skills have been improved. In addition to the case training, WTS also has regular English training. In the training, Mr. Martin taught us how to improve business English writing skills. The internship has been a valuable experience for me, and I hope WTS's business will flourish!
