Director or above, Alliance Management

Responsibilities:

• Formulate Alliance Management strategy.

• Manage effectively the main communication channel for multiple established partnerships.

• Align both internally across functions and externally to ensure smooth progression of the collaborative projects.

• Understand the contracts very well and be ready to explain the contract terms to project team. Maintain a centralized obligations tracker capturing deliverables, milestones, payment triggers, governance rights, and key terms such as exclusivity and territory across all partnerships.

• Communicate effectively and meet frequently with the Partner’s alliance manager or point person, building strong bond and trust.

• Schedule regular or ad hoc meetings (JSC, JDC, Project, CMC subteam, etc) based on contractual obligations or project needs.

• Draft, review, and communicate meeting minutes with team members, highlighting action items and timelines.

• Remind team of deliverables and timelines. Document governance decisions, change orders, and contract amendments, and route them to the appropriate internal approvers.

• Proactively identify, report and address any potential issues. Facilitate effective problem-solving and conflict resolution to maintain healthy and productive partnerships.

• Ensure accuracy of invoices and on-time payments from and to the Partner, including tracking milestone payments and any royalty or earn-out triggers.

• Document all AM activities and generate reports to management team regularly.

• Onboard newly signed alliances: stand up governance bodies, lead kickoff, and establish the joint operating cadence.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree/MBA and above, degree in relevant life science field preferred.

• 8+ years of industry experience in biotech or pharmaceutical companies, including 2+ years of hands-on AM experience managing collaboration, licensing, or co-development alliances.

• Experience with mRNA/LNP, biologics, cell therapy, or in vivo CAR-T collaborations preferred.

• Chinese and English proficiency for China cross-border partnerships.

• Strong interpersonal, team coordination, written and verbal communication skills.

• Well organized and attention to details.

• Strong motivation and work ethic and ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment.

• Sense of urgency, excellent time management skills as well as the ability to prioritize among multiple projects.
