Quality Tech

The Quality Tech at Oxford Forge, Inc. is a skilled professional responsible for performing advanced quality control inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure products meet stringent quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves complex problem-solving, process improvement, and mentoring junior quality personnel.

Job Description:
- Conduct advanced inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods using a variety of precision measuring instruments (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Perform complex dimensional layouts and verify product conformity to engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&
T interpretation.
- Execute and interpret results from various destructive and non-destructive testing methods (e.g., hardness testing, tensile testing, visual inspection for defects).
- Identify, document, and investigate non-conformance issues, including root cause analysis and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control procedures, work instructions, and quality management system (QMS) documentation (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Train and mentor Quality Techs on inspection techniques, equipment operation, and quality procedures.
- Analyze quality data, generate reports, and present findings to engineering and production teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve product quality and process efficiency.
- Operate and program CMM and other automated inspection equipment.
- Participate in FMEA and PPAP processes as required.

Required Skills and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent;
Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Engineering Technology) preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, quality control role, preferably in a metal fabrication, forging, or machining environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&
T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide range of precision measurement tools and inspection equipment
- Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and industry-specific quality standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with quality management software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with all levels of the organization.
- ASQ certifications (e.g., CQT, CQI) are highly desirable.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
