About Okra
At Okra Solar, we're on a mission to bring Power to the People by unlocking opportunities through energy access for everyone in the world.
Over 650 million people still live without electricity. At a time where technology such as mobile devices, productive agritech and AI are becoming more accessible than ever, we believe that access to energy is the first step toward opportunity and growth.
That's why we build our Mesh Grid technology that energizes off-grid households at a fraction of the cost of the other solutions. We provide the entire solution, including the hardware and software, that we sell to local energy companies who deploy our tech to deliver affordable, reliable electricity as a service to last-mile communities.
We've deployed 2MW+ of solar PV energizing ~50,000 people, and we're scaling fast under Nigeria's $750M World Bank-funded DARES program, with equipment for another 150,000 people in manufacturing now, and new markets opening in Mozambique and Madagascar.
In order to execute on the mission to 100% energy access for all, we are looking for a Field Operations Technician.
Role Overview
This is a rotational role within the After Sales & Operations Team, during the probation period for visibility into our operational process. The successful candidate will rotate across three core units. Upon completion the core focus would be Deployment and Support.

- Field Deployment — Supporting and executing solar installations in the field, quality checking, and training partner installers.
- Technical Support — Handling customer support queries, providing technical troubleshooting, and delivering field-based support visits.
As such, the ideal candidate must be technically sound and comfortable operating across all three functions. You will need a solid understanding of solar installations, solar system components, field troubleshooting, customer issue resolution, and training support. Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn are essential.
You will be the boots on the ground supporting the Deployment Manager, ensuring installations are done right, equipment is functional, customers are supported, and the team has the data and feedback it needs to improve continuously.

- Run L1 equipment assessment processes (Handover to the Test and Repair Team for L3 assessment).
- Conduct regular stocktakes and prepare deployment equipment (Temporary).
- Identify and report abnormal inventory consumption (e.g., theft, wastage, or installation errors) (Temporary).
- Track and record equipment that has been repaired or confirmed irreparable (Temporary).
Customer Support:
